Giving is the hardest thing. Everyone tries to escape giving away his money and belongings.

Human ego is often at war with God. Everyone wants to satisfy his ‘ego’ and train God. This disobedience to God is the primordial or original sin.

If you keep God’s gift to yourself, you will become greedy. Greed is the surest road to destruction.

Krishna says in the scripture Bhagavad Gita that the Earth plane was founded on a reciprocal relationship between God and the humans. The humans perform offerings for the Gods and the Divine, in turn, multiplies them a thousand fold.

The human logical mind asks, “Why would God expect gifts from man? Anyway, doesn’t everything belong to God?”

It is true that God doesn’t require anything from the humans. Giving is a mechanism to reform and civilize human ego and greed.

Giving makes you experience your subjugation to God. It is a way of killing your ego and accepting God’s supremacy. It is a device to strengthen man’s relationship with God.

Most importantly, it is expressing your gratitude for life.

I had a personal encounter with Krishna at Vrindavan that has completely changed me, as well as bringing in many miracles. Radha and Krishna are truly vibrantly alive and available in Vrindavan, the pleasure Garden where they lived and enjoyed music, dance and wonderful pastimes.

As I entered the ISKCON temple, I heard the most heavenly voice singing Krishna’s name in a heart-rending way. The temple was incredibly alive with music, movement, and people in raptures as they moved close to the statues of Radha and Krishna and gazed at them. The energy of profound love and ecstasy was everywhere.

I moved closer to the shrine of Radha and Krishna and somehow was helped to the front of the line – I was face to face with Krishna, and I was completely captivated with his presence and power – I felt him physically and spiritually enter my heart with his bliss consciousness. It was as if he had taken seat in my soul.

That night, Krishna appeared to me in a vivid dream. He showed me His form as I had seen at the temple, and He communicated to me that he wanted me to do a special daily ritual to Him, with specific instructions, in order to amass funds for our charity projects in India. He even showed me the face of our travel agent and indicated he was the person who would know how to arrange for the special ritual. He conveyed a secret of manifestation to me. I awoke with the fullness of his presence around me.

The next day I told our travel agent about my dream and Krishna’s guidance, and he told me he has a family temple with a beautiful Radha and Krishna, and could carry out my ritual exactly as given. Once the daily ritual began, I have been receiving constant opportunities to expand our HoPE initiatives for the poorest of poor in India, and doors are opening to establish long-term funding.

I feel Krishna’s presence with me always and look to Him daily for His miraculous consciousness to continue to shower miracles upon me.
