“Why am I here on the earth plane?
I have revealed to you my previous incarnation as Swami Ramalingam. In this incarnation, I was born on October 5, 1823 and ascended into light on January 31, 1874. This was the most fulfilling of all of my incarnations. I worked on the most difficult task of turning the physical body into light.
As Swami Ramalingam, I had precisely identified the problem of human existence. I questioned what was going to give human beings liberation from pain and then I realized that one thing was fundamental for all human problems – the meat body.
You may argue that the body and the senses give you pleasure. Delicious food, beautiful clothes, music, dance, and sex, no doubt, give you pleasure. But then the pleasure is fleeting. Sooner or later you end up in pain.
Just ask the questions “Why do you do what you do? Why do you work hard?” It is because you want to provide comforts for the body. In the absence of a body you do not require anything. It is only the body that requires money, food and sex.
Speaking from the spiritual point of view, your true identity is the spirit and not the body. You acquired this body because you wanted to come here to the earth plane and live here until you die. You have come here many, many times. You will come back in the future, too.
Why does the soul come back here again and again? Ignorance. The soul is basically ignorant. It will never be able to figure out, on its own, the solution for its longing for embodiment. It is simply not in the domain of the soul. Unless you understand the body and its corruption, you will never long for liberation. The body and the attachment it has to the world must go. That is why Jesus killed his body on the cross. It was a great event in the history of the human race. Both Jesus and Ramalingam sought total liberation for the human soul.
When I was Swami Ramalingam I worked on transforming the physical body with great diligence and discipline. I expounded a theory that described the nature of the material and immaterial body. Both the material physical body and the immaterial Light Body are composed of the 5 elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether.
The Light Body is the transformation of the gross 5 elements into their subtle forms. I learned this philosophy of the 5 subtle elements from the Tamil siddhas who had acquired a Light Body through this method.
I also consumed a lot of immortality herbs prescribed in the Tamil siddha texts. The herbs and the meditations were helpful to refine my gross body. I ate food only once in 3 months and drank boiling water. Of course I was very thin, but my physical body glowed.
Nevertheless, I must say that I did not get the Light Body through the help of the herbs or through the meditations. The Light Body came as a gift from Siva. Many times he appeared before me with different messages. A couple of times he hugged me and my body momentarily turned into light. In my long poem called “Jyothi Verses” I have documented the process that my body went through.
Slowly, slowly the body was disintegrating. My blood was frozen, my bones became malleable, my semen rolled into a ball and went into the third eye, and my brain was glowing and oozing out nectar. I could not quite stay on the earth, and I was almost floating. I covered up the entire body with a piece of cloth. Only my hands and eyes were visible. I was mostly confined to my place. I was even afraid to look at people. Light poured out of my eyes. I had only one wish. I wanted everyone to get to this level. As a light being I experienced immense freedom, joy, unlimited intelligence and the ability to do everything.
I prayed to Siva that He should come down to the earth plane and give the Light Body to everyone. I declared to everyone that He would come within 10 days. One day I saw him coming. He quickly got into my body. I said that miracles would happen after 24 hours.
It was not then the right time. I yelled at my disciples because no one wanted a Light Body. I told a close congregation the following: “I opened my shop, but no one was interested in my products. I will come back again.”
Here I am back on the earth plane. This time I have learned from my previous mistakes. I am particularly delighted to teach this Light Body Program in 2012 because the time is conducive now more than ever before.
