Marking the dawn of the Golden Age – 2011, is an important time period in the history of planet earth. Paving the path to a time of possibilities, opportunities and divinities, this year, brings in a host of divine energies and forces that are waiting to guide us into a new era of existence.

Each new era, has opened to archetypes guiding mankind into a new age of understanding and existence. Epic battles, tales of valour, strength, kindness, compassion, helping nature, of these archetypes have dotted scriptures.

As 2011 is set in motion it brings in a host of divinities and archetypes who are making their presence felt, to help guide us into the golden age.

Of these, Karuppasamy plays a vital role. Hardly known in the Vedic Hindu Pantheon, Karuppasamy, the village diety, is now emerging as one of the main archetypes for the year 2011.

Karuppasamy-the-dark-god

Literally, translating to ‘The Dark God,’ Karuppasamy is a fierce looking deity sporting a thick moustache, decked with many ornaments, riding a white horse and carrying a drawn out sword.

He is said to have sprung from Lord Vishnu’s hands and hence is also known as Kaiyannar (One Created from the hand).

He is reverend as the Kaval Daivam’ or ‘God of Protection’ in various villages of Tamil Nadu and Sri-Lanka.  Karuppasamy or even known as Karuppanar is believed to protect the poor and ensure justice and self-discipline among his believers. It is also believed, that he is a fierce warrior and punishes those who commit crimes. It is said that he drives away all evils and devils from entering the village. He masters all lands and is a warrior who blocks all evil entering the boundary.

What does Karuppasamy Represent?

Karuppasamy is a primordial God with tremendous amount of wisdom and energy. He is also called as ‘The Dark God’ in reference to his role in driving away the dark forces of evil, falsehood and treachery

Karuppasamy is the God of Righteousness, who upholds ‘Dharma’ or Right Action. He embodies the energy to carry out the prayers in a relatively short period of time, and in some cases, almost immediately. He has the ability to bring desired results very fast. His speed comes from the horse he gallops upon. As per Dr. Pillai, the horse is a powerful representation of the divine and has the ability to not only store one’s prayers, but also transmit divine vibrations.

Karuppasamy is a deity of the Golden Age. As we approach the Golden Age in 2012, he has decided to make an appearance in 2011. He can remove the pain and suffering of people, and establish a new divine world order of truth and righteousness. He represents the ability to manifest and produce fast results.

Dr. Pillai, has also observed that the fastest and easiest way to connect to this archetype is by feeding the poor and hungry.

Parallels betweeen Kalki Avatar and Karuppasamy

The Kalki archetype, or Avatar is said to be the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is said to come to end the present age of darkness and destruction, he is the god who leads us through this transition to the Golden age.

The name ‘Kalki’ is metaphorically linked to eternity or time. The origins of the name bring in the meaning ‘Destroyer of Foulness,’ ‘Destroyer of Confusion’, ‘Destroyer of darkness’ or ‘Annihilator of ignorance’.

The representation of justice and righteousness is very similar to that of Karuppasamy.  Destroying evil, bringing in justice,  the Bhagavata Purana states, “Lord Kalki, the Lord of the Universe, will mount his swift white horse Devadatta and sword in hand travel the earth exhibiting his eight mystic opulence’s,  destroying all evil,”- the roles of both the deities are similar and parallel to one another.

Both these archetypes represent the path towards destroying the old negative habitual patterns towards the path of a new era. They are the guiding lights of transition from this age to the new Golden Age.

Personal Practices:

Chant the Mantra (Quantum Sound Frequency) given by Dr. Pillai to invoke Karuppasamy’s blessings and grace in your life.

OR

There is a misunderstanding that Yoga is simply sitting in a cave and meditating. Yoga could be anything. Cricket is a form of Yoga.

Yoga is only concentration, where you transcend the mind because the mind is very slow; the mind cannot make decisions very precisely. That’s why Patanjali, the Father of Yoga, says that you have to stop the mind; that’s his definition of Yoga. Why do you have to stop the mind? He says then only you can go to your real self.

So, a Cricket player also has to be in Yoga. What he has to do is to be completely alert and aware. Decision making is very important because what you are doing in Cricket is trying to outwit each other. The bowler and batsman are trying to outsmart each other. You have to get to a place where you are better than your competitor.

Your decision is very important because you should know how many runs you can take and whether you can do it or not. You have to make the right decisions and then execute it very quickly.

Playing Cricket is just not a game, it’s just not sport. It’s also mind training and it can be life training as well. In life, you cannot sit and wait for opportunities to come. You have to make the right decisions and also act very quickly.

What you need is just concentration. The Cricket player has to completely visualize everything in his own mind. There should be coordination between the mind, the space and the hands. What better Yoga you can think about than playing Cricket.

If you train yourself in Cricket, you can apply the learning in real life as well. You can take some of the Yogic techniques and apply them to playing Cricket. The players can get to know the Yogic techniques about – what concentration is, how to exclude your mind, ego and self, and then how to be completely goal oriented.

For a player, what is most important is winning; it’s a winner’s consciousness. What Cricket as a sport gives you is a winner’s consciousness.

You cannot go and speak philosophy or the Karma theory to a Cricket player. For him, what matters is that he has to win; victory is important to him.
